DIY Rustic Wood Pumpkin $20
Welcome back to another quick and easy DIY!
This week we’re feeling the cooler weather as fall moves into Tennessee and Kentucky. Our team is prepping our homes with fall decor, and we wanted to share our newest DIY!
Supplies Needed:
1 - Wooden Board $15 (Walmart)
1- Can Rust-oleum Fast Drying Indoor/Outdoor Paint & Primer $3 (Walmart)
1 - Felt Pumpkin Placemat $1 (Dollar Tree)
1- Roll of Painters Tape $1 (Dollar Tree)
We cheated and bought this already stained wooden board from Walmart for $15.
If you’re feeling a little “extra” you can gather 2 inch x 12 inch wood strips, glue planks to 1x1 strips, nail 10 strips to the (2) 1x1 wood strips on the back side. Stain in any color you’d like.
From the Dollar Tree, we picked up this $1 felt pumpkin place mat. Cut the tag and get ready for the fun!
Let’s get sticky—We had painters tape on hand (thank you new construction punch walks), but if you don’t have some on hand - grab some when you’re at the Dollar Tree.
Pull some tape off in tiny strips, roll it around, and stick to the pumpkin placemat.
Carefully place your pumpkin placemat on the wood board.
Press firmly, so it does not move.
Whew! We’re getting somewhere now.
Get ready for some spray painting with your Rust-oleum Fast Drying Indoor & Outdoor paint.
We may be a little excited for this next step…
Place your wood board and pumpkin outside in the grass, or on a tarp in a well vented area.
Take your Rust-oleum Spray Paint and gently sweep the paint can back and forth over the entire board, left and right.
Make sure you stand back a little, it does spray all over.
Who’s ready to see their work of art? WE ARE!
Once the paint dries, carefully pull your pumpkin placemat off of the board.
LOOK AT YOU DOING THINGS!
Holy Snap, we did it!
You can now accessories your new piece of art with other fun accents.
We added a leaf garland from the Dollar Tree, and an owl votive and wood jar from the Dollar General. Added accessories: less than $10!
Thank you for checking out our DIY this week. We hope you’re able to fill your home with amazing fall decorations, and enjoy the changing of the season.
Until next time…
