DIY Floating Entertainment Center
Hello everyone!
Welcome to another DIY Saturday!
Today we’re making this super modern floating entertainment/console center! I think the floating furniture trend is super cute right now, it gives a modern twist to any space. Let’s get started!
Supplies Needed:
2 Pieces of Oak - 12 x 48 Inches
4 Pieces of Oak - 12 x 8 Inches
6 L Brackets
Wood Glue
Wood Screws OR Nails
Step one!
This DIY moves pretty fast because it’s just THAT easy. All you need to do is align your pieces, two 8 inch pieces on the ends then two in the middle, and tact it together with wood glue. You can use clamps or something heavy to weigh it down and keep it in place. Careful, Wood glue is super messy!
Once you’ve glued your pieces together, you’ll need to install your brackets. I like a strong sturdy hold, so I did two per section for a total of 6. Make sure you use screws small enough for the wood or else it will pierce through the other side!
Once that’s completed, all you need to do is secure everything together with long wood nails, wherever you feel it’s needed! I did 4 on each side and two for each middle piece.
Once you’re done, it should look like this! Now you have the option to paint it, or install it on the wall as is. I decided to paint mine white!
aaaaand voila! You’re done! I love how this looks in my space! It’s perfect to hold DVD’s or a console. If you decided to recreate this or any of our other DIY’s, make sure to use #KaylaPiersonTeam so we can share the love!
Until next time!
