DIY Dollar Store Lanterns!
Hello everyone!
We are BACK with another DIY Saturday!
I really wanted to get creative with this week’s DIY and step out of my comfort zone, so I went to Dollar Tree!
I found a bunch of these super simple frames and decided to make some lanterns. This project was so easy! Keep scrolling and I’ll show you how to make some of your own!
Here’s the supplies you’ll need:
4 Frames of equal size (I got a couple different sizes to test out, my personal favorite is the 5x7 frames.)
Candles! I got a variety of candles and little lanterns because I really wanted to mix up the sizes.)
Hot Glue Gun & Sticks
Black Spray Paint (or whichever color you choose. These would look so adorable in a light blue color!)
First step to this project is taking out all of the paper, glass and backings from your frame. You can do this with a butter knife and a little bit of patience! After that, lay out the frames only and spray with whatever color you choose. In the picture above you can see I went with a matte black.
Next you’ll need to glue the glass back in. I chose to use gorilla glue for this, because I felt like it gave a sturdier hold than just the regular hot glue.
Now take the sides of your frames and glue them to create a box! Honestly, that’s it! It get’s a bit tricky with the bigger frames but the 5x7 lantern was the easiest! Now you can accessorize with whatever candles you want!
If you make this or any of our other DIY’s, make sure to use the tag #KaylaPiersonTeam so we can see it and share the love! See you next time!
