DIY Rustic Wooden Photo Hanger UNDER $25!

The Rustic/Farmhouse decor trend is SUPER popular right now, so we thought we’d hop on it and create a cute photo hanger for our office! We are going to show you the steps to take to take a couple simple supplies from Hobby Lobby and turn it into something for your home!

I got all of the supplies I’ll need from Hobby Lobby! Don’t forget - You can use their weekly 40% off coupon to save on some of these items too! Here’s a list to make things easier:

  • Thin Paint Brushes

  • Wooden Clothes Pins

  • Jute String

  • Black Paint

  • Gorilla Glue (hot glue, super glue, and wood glue will also work for this project)

  • Wooden Sign

That’s it! After my coupons, I spent about $18 total!

First thing you need to do is arrange your pins how you’d like them to lay on your sign! We have 5 members on our team, So I arranged 5 on our sign. You can add as little or as many as you like, just keep in mind that the pictures might overlap once you clip them.

Step Two: You’ll need to start gluing your clothes pins down. PLEASE use caution no matter what type of glue you are using, especially gorilla glue! It’s messy and very tacky. We wouldn’t want you gluing your hands to your sign now would we!

One by one, you can place the clothes pins on your sign. Like I said, the gorilla glue is tacky and messy, so once I place the pin down, I held it with pressure for about 30 seconds to ensure it is properly secure.

This is the easiest step! Cut a piece of jute string the length of your sign plus two inches on each side. Run it through the opening on the clothes pins, and then attach to back. This part is completely optional, but I think it’s so cute! It gives off the illusion that the pictures are hanging on the line!

Your last step is the most time consuming one. This is where you’ll paint out the phrase you want on your sign! I used “Kayla Pierson Team” because it’s going in our office, but the possibilities are endless! I don’t have the greatest handwriting, so I made sure to paint the very first and the very last letter on the sign, so I could space it out accordingly! After you let this dry, you can attach your photos and voila! Pinterest project: COMPLETE!
